How to add a link in your Instagram bio
Add a website from the Instagram mobile app. Follow the iPhone or Android labels, choose the order of your links, and check the destination before sharing.
Add a website in the mobile app
Instagram supports up to five websites in your profile. Its Help Center provides this feature for iPhone and Android, rather than desktop. Use a public page that visitors can open without signing into your editor.
- Copy the full public HTTPS address you want visitors to open. If you use NexLink, publish your page first and copy its bio.nexl.ink address.
- Open the Instagram mobile app and go to Profile using your profile picture.
- Tap Edit profile, then Links.
- On iPhone, tap Add external link. Instagram's Android help calls this Add link.
- Enter your website address, complete any label fields shown in your app, then tap Done. Return to your profile.
- Open the saved link and check that it reaches your intended page. Test it from a visitor's view as well as your own account.
Reorder, change or remove a link
Open Edit profile, then Links. To change the order, select Options, then Reorder links, and drag a link to its new position. Finish with Done on iPhone or Accept on Android, then return to your profile. To remove a website, select its link and choose Remove link.
Instagram says these website links are visible to anyone on or off the platform. Avoid using a private dashboard or a URL containing an access token.
Choose direct links or a link page
A direct shop or booking link can be enough when you have one main action. Several native links can work when you have a small set of destinations. A link in bio page lets you maintain a separate page of links and change its contents while keeping the same profile address.
NexLink's Free plan currently includes up to two sites and 50 links per page. Link to your existing shop, calendar or newsletter form. Pro adds branding removal, unlimited sites and longer analytics history. Scheduling is currently included on Free. A link page adds a navigation step, so keep your main action easy to find.
If the link is missing or does not open
- Use the mobile app and its Links control. Pasting a website into the bio text is a different action.
- Check the full HTTPS address for spaces or typing mistakes, and confirm you saved the link.
- Open the address in a browser. For NexLink, check the published page rather than an editor preview.
- Test your destination buttons from Instagram's browser too, especially booking and checkout links.
Understand the reporting
NexLink reports page views and destination-link clicks. Free includes seven days of reporting with visitor breakdowns and analytics export; Pro adds longer history. A page visit and a click on a button are different events. Referrer information can be missing, so a report cannot identify every visitor's source or reveal their Instagram username.
